We received this user report from Leon, who would like to share his experience with the current LSD derivative 1BP-LSD.
Leon had no prior psychedelic experience, but was curious how the mind-altering effects would impact him and his everyday life.
In the following blog post, he takes us on his journey and explains how he prepared for, experienced, and integrated his trip, and what influence this experience had on his personal perception.
Enjoy reading!
Note: 1BP-LSD and 1Fe-LSD are not intended for human consumption. All content described is based on scientific sources or subjective experience reports and is not to be understood as instructions or recommendations.
The legal classification of newly developed LSD derivatives is of central interest to many psychonauts. Accordingly, a close look at the current situation in Germany is worthwhile, because the legal situation resembles a cat-and-mouse game between prohibitions by legislation and newly developed research chemicals by experts.
Numerous LSD molecule variants concocted by chemists (such as 1V-LSD, 1S-LSD, 1P-LSD or 1cP-LSD in the past) are entering the market with ever new chemical structure modifications and are specifically designed as so-called LSD prodrugs.
Their precisely thought-out design before production aims to fall under neither the Narcotics Act nor the New Psychoactive Substances Act, although they are converted into lysergic acid diethylamide ("acid") through metabolic processes in the body. Consequently, they are currently considered legal - at least until a possible adaptation of the NpSG - and can be sold by online providers without criminal consequences. Possession is also legal under these circumstances.
It should be noted, however, that no LSD product offered as research chemicals has approval as a medicinal product or food. These substances are explicitly not intended for human consumption.
The substance with the abbreviation 1BP-LSD is currently (as of 02/2026) not covered by the NpSG, the Medicinal Products Act or the BtMG and is therefore legally available in Germany [1, 2]. The situation is similar with 1Fe-LSD, which was launched at roughly the same time.
Now for a very brief excursion into chemistry, as this background knowledge is important for understanding the dosage of 1BP-LSD:
1BP-LSD, due to its side group with the boron-containing heterocycle, is significantly heavier (molar mass: 609.6 g/mol) than the "normal" LSD-25 molecule (molar mass: 323.4 g/mol).
This means that to achieve the effect of a 100 µg dose of LSD-25, approximately 188 µg of 1BP-LSD would need to be used. For researchers, this means that the dose of 1BP-LSD must be increased by approximately 1.9 times to achieve an effect comparable to LSD-25.
Leon: “My name is Leon, I'm 33 and I work as an office clerk. Over the last few years, as a balance to my rather monotonous office job, I've become increasingly involved with personal development, creativity promotion, and spiritual practice. At some point, I stumbled upon the topic of mind expansion and noticed how many creative minds used LSD as a tool.
That piqued my interest too.
My curiosity about psychoactive substances was never driven by the search for a "high" or "trip" in the party sense, but rather by my desire to understand how perception, thinking, and self-image are connected.
In reality, it was my interest to get to know other states of consciousness and to see what else there is beyond everyday routine and obligations in my consciousness, who I am outside of my tasks and roles.
In my research on the internet, I came across the designation 1BP-LSD. According to a blog post, this was supposed to be a derivative of classic LSD that is used in the psychonautic scene because it is said to be similar to the LSD experience, but legally harmless because it is not prohibited.
This definitely piqued my interest, because I would definitely not be the type to approach some shady guy at the train station out of curiosity. A safe dosage of an estimable substance and an experience without breaking laws sounded like a good way for me.
I asked myself if I wanted to dare, and answered myself with "Yes". Thereupon I ordered 1BP-LSD. I was excited, felt anticipation, but also had extreme respect for my own plan.”
Leon: “For my experience, I planned a conscious break from everyday stress.
I took a few days off and prepared everything: the groceries were done, the apartment clean, and all important tasks checked off; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to clear my head.
My apartment is a calm space for me, my safe space also for this experience. Here, the risk of a negative setting was extremely low.
Since I had no previous experience with psychedelics, I invited a friend for this day who had already researched other LSD derivatives. The idea was that he should simply be there in case I felt uncomfortable. His planned presence gave me security.
The evening before, I laid out a notebook and pens and decided to go to bed relatively early to think about my intentions for the experience and get enough sleep.”
Leon: "The day began with sleeping in and a light breakfast.
Then I started my journey with a 175 µg blotter, which I placed under my tongue and swallowed after a few minutes.
The onset was gentle; I felt slightly queasy for a short time. After about 2 hours, the effects became stronger and stronger: visually, but also internally. It was more as if the curtain of the familiar lifted slightly, and I perceived subtle nuances of my perception more clearly than usual: colors, sounds, inner images, and thoughts gained a different depth, without anything becoming abrupt. The boundaries between inside and outside felt more open and at the same time gentler.
In quieter moments, I became more aware of how strongly habits and unconscious patterns shape my thinking, actions, and reactions. Things that are easily overlooked in everyday life came into focus: the sensation of breathing, fleeting memories, emotions I had long ignored.
Over the course of this internal phase, I felt thoughts not forcefully arranging themselves, but rather flowing freely. It was as if facets of myself became accessible to me that usually remain in the shadows. This was exciting, and for several hours, I managed to simply surrender to these impressions.
About 6 hours later, the effects slowly wore off. I decided to take a short walk through the cool winter landscape and spent the rest of the evening taking notes on my psychedelic journey."
Leon: "Looking back, my psychedelic journey was less of a 'grand experience' that catapulted me out of the world, and more of a gentle expansion of my view of myself and my inner processes. The experience didn't pose any all-illuminating questions, nor did it provide simple answers. But it opened spaces of awareness that I often don't notice in everyday life, because so much simply gets lost. It showed me the beauty of things and forms that one usually overlooks.
The experience reminded me who I really am, apart from my daily tasks, how fascinating our human mind is, how beautiful nature is. It reminded me that we should take time to live consciously, instead of just letting everyday life carry us away and rushing from appointment to appointment. It showed me how easily one loses focus. I want to try to live more consciously in the future."
Despite ever new prohibitions by legislators, ever new LSD variants enable the exploration of altered states of consciousness or experiments with microdosing. Responsible research with substances like 1BP-LSD can, according to anecdotal reports, help to open new perspectives and break ingrained thought patterns.
Promising scientific studies suggest that hallucinogens could be helpful in the therapy of severe mental illnesses such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression, or even in addiction [3, 4, 5, 6].
Leon used an LSD derivative to access his inner worlds, explore his subconscious, and learn more about the person he is, free from all obligations and tasks.
More and more people, like Leon, are using psychedelics to develop their personalities and get to know themselves better.
By deliberately utilizing legal loopholes, these psychonautically interested individuals are not forced to consume illegal drugs, the detection of which can lead to legal problems.
